Kartik Aaryan on ‘Chandu Champion’: I Was in shock when I heard the film’s narration and you should also know this.
Gwalior, When filmmaker Kabir Khan initially told actor Kartik Aaryan the story of “Chandu Champion,” he said, he did not know if it was fiction or fact. This was because the plot had so many twists and turns.
The upcoming sports movie, which is based on the story of India’s first Paralympian gold medallist Murlikant Petkar, will feature Aaryan as “the man who refused to submit.”
On Saturday night, the actor, Khan, and producer Sajid Nadiadwala arrived in his hometown of Gwalior to introduce the “Chandu Champion” trailer.
“Is this true? was the first thing I thought of when I heard the story for the first time. Was it a true story? or Is this made up? It was nearly impossible to trust his account because it had so many historical incidents and twists, Aaryan told reporters in this location.
“When I first heard the story, I was astounded. Surprisingly, though, everything was based on real-life incidents. I was so impressed that I was skeptical for about a month because I really wanted to do it. However, I was not sure if I could pull it off,” he continued.
The film’s teaser for “Chandu Champion” chronicles the journey of the title character through several ages and stages of life, including his time as an Indian Army soldier, wrestler, boxer, war veteran from 1965, and swimmer. An old Chandu declares at the end of the 3.15-minute video that he wants to pursue a lawsuit against the Indian President for cheating.
The 33-year-old actor claimed that “Chandu Champion,” which required him to go through intense physical training, is his “proudest” film to date.
“For a year and a half, I was going to the gym every day, not eating, not seeing any other movies, and just concentrating on one image. He recollected, “I became like a robot, a machine, and I was just obeying their commands and here we are.
Khan, whose most recent feature was the sports drama “83,” was all praise for the lead actor’s natural physique building for the picture.
Sometimes I would question whether this would be accomplished because it seemed like an insurmountable effort. Kartik had no substance when he created his body. He avoided sugar for a period of 1.5 years. It was forbidden for him to consume anything he enjoyed,” he declared.
The director claimed that even during the actor’s time in the 2023 romance drama “Satyaprem Ki Katha,” he continued to monitor his food.
He said, “He has been an excellent student; we are proud of him.”
Khan stated that Aaryan was his initial selection for “Chandu Champion,” characterizing it as a “motivational” tale.
“I frequently remark that the tale picks you, not the other way around. This is the tale that caught my attention. “It is such an inspiring narrative that has been concealed,” I remarked.
“No one was aware of this individual or the kind of journey he has taken until now. You really must watch this story. I felt compelled to share it because it is such a touching and inspirational tale. “And I only saw Kartik in it,” remarked the director of movies such “Kabul Express,” “Bajrangi Bhaijaan,” and “Ek Tha Tiger.”
“Life has gone full circle” for Aaryan, he remarked, launching the movie’s teaser in his hometown.
“The response that we are witnessing is the result of the hard work of all the professionals, outstanding directors like Kabir, and outstanding performers who strive to make a daily impression. “I express my gratitude and hope that this picture achieves success,” producer Nadiadwala continued.
“Chandu Champion,” a Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Kabir Khan Films production, will be released on June 14 in theaters.
